SURF INFORMATION

Situated on the South East side of Sri Lanka Arugam Bay receives the same Antarctic winter swell's that hit Indonesia in the middle of the year. The best time of the year is between May and October when the predominant wind is offshore for at least the first half of the day.

Due to its location and southerly swell direction the area is dominated by right hand point breaks. Four of the point breaks - "The Point", “Baby Point”, "Pottuvil Point" and "Elephant Rock"- you'll find within walking distance or a short tuk tuk ride from the Hotel. "The Point” and “Baby Point” are visible from Aloha Cabanas (10 minute walk). There are several other points to surf and we would love to help you organize your trips.
